Grade 12 titanium coil is a corrosion-resistant titanium alloy. It is a near-alpha alloy developed to improve the crevice corrosion performance of pure titanium. The alloy contains 0.3% Mo and 0.8% Ni, which not only strengthens and has good crevice corrosion resistance to high temperature, low PH value chloride or weak reducing acid, and its corrosion resistance is significantly better than pure titanium. GR12 alloy also has good process plasticity and welding performance, and has been widely used in the chemical industry. The alloy is used in the annealed condition.
The selection of materials for many metallurgical, petrochemical, medical, and aerospace equipment is very important. A large number of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pipelines, and even couplings must not only bear the load during service, but also receive corrosion from many media. The conditions are very harsh, and the selection of materials for many equipment can no longer be adapted by adjusting and improving on the basis of commonly used stainless steel, while the mechanical properties of titanium and titanium alloys are similar to those of stainless steel, and the corrosiveness is far superior. Therefore, in important chemical equipment applied in various forms. Among them, GR12 titanium coil has better corrosion resistance than GR2. Its corrosion resistance and crevice corrosion resistance in reducing media are comparable to titanium palladium alloys, but the price is much lower.

Properties
When the nickel content in titanium-nickel alloy is low, it is basically a single α phase. Due to the segregation of components, a small amount of Ti2Ni phase may be obtained. Adding nickel to pure titanium can increase the passivation range and improve the healing when the passivation film is damaged. It can be seen that the improvement of crevice corrosion resistance of titanium-molybdenum-nickel alloy is due to the content of 0.8% nickel. In addition, nickel and titanium form a Ti2Ni phase, which acts as an active cathode in a corrosive medium to increase the cathode activity of the material, further promote the cathode polarization of the alloy, and make it passivated.
